The township dates back to 1818, and in 1960 residents voted to keep its own township government as Brunswick Hills, preserving the rural character you can still feel today. That decision shapes life here in the best ways: larger lots, homes set back from the road, a peaceful open landscape, and no local income tax. For nature lovers, Princess Ledges Nature Preserve offers dramatic sandstone ledges through an old-growth forest, and Plum Creek Park, once a landfill and now a 190-acre gem with fishing ponds and trails, connects by greenway to Mooney Park in Brunswick on foot or by bike. Most of the Hills is served by Brunswick City Schools, though a few pockets feed into Highland Local School District, so it is always worth confirming the boundary for the home you have your eye on. Lake Brunswick Park
A beautiful scenic spot for a walk, a picnic, or just sitting by the water with a good book. The paved path around the lake is perfect for a morning stroll or an evening jog. I have spent many peaceful afternoons here, and I love that this little oasis is right in town.
Donut Land
A true local institution. Get there early because they sell out fast, and trust me, it is worth the effort. Their donuts are made fresh daily, and one bite will tell you why this place has been a Brunswick staple for years.
Scene75 Entertainment Center
A massive indoor family entertainment complex with arcade games, laser tag, bumper cars, go-karts, and more. It is a rainy day lifesaver and a favorite birthday party destination. The kids love it, and honestly, so do the adults.
Market 42 & Taste of Summer
At 360 Pearl Road, this seasonal farm market brings together fresh produce, local honey, baked goods, and handcrafted items. It is open multiple days a week through the growing season and is the perfect place to stock up on local goodies while supporting our community's makers and growers.
Fat Bob's & Ohio Pie Company
Brunswick has some absolute gems when it comes to pizza. Fat Bob's Pizza has been a family favorite for years, and Ohio Pie Company brings something special to the local scene. These are the places you will find yourself returning to again and again.
Community Traditions
The Independence Celebration Parade on the Fourth of July has the whole town lining the streets, kids waving flags and all. Add in the Brunswick Kiwanis Spring Craft Fair and the A Taste of Summer Annual Craft Show, and there is always something that brings neighbors together.

As of late summer 2026, homes in Brunswick are selling in the $320,000 to $325,000 range, with prices up about 3 to 7% from last year depending on the month. More than 100 homes sold in a single month earlier this year, and inventory has grown significantly, giving buyers more to choose from than we have seen in a while. The market remains competitive, with homes going under contract in about 25 to 35 days on average, a bit faster than last year.
What that means for you: if you are buying, you have more options than last year thanks to higher inventory, but you still need to be ready to move when you find the right home. If you are selling, the demand is steady and prices are climbing, so the timing is favorable. This Week in Brunswick & Brunswick Hills
Fall festival season is officially here, and this week it really kicks into high gear. Mapleside Farms' Pumpkin Village is open Fridays through Sundays now through the end of October, with over 20 attractions across 100 acres: a giant corn maze, hayrides through the orchard, pumpkin picking, pig races, a jumping pillow, and that famous super slide. This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, September 19 and 20, is their Princess & Pirates Weekend, so bring the little ones in costume for a couple of days of royal and swashbuckling fun. Around town, the city is wrapping up the Laurel and Maxwell intersection improvements, which means smoother drives for everyone who uses that stretch on the way to school or work. It is a beautiful, busy stretch in our corner of Medina County.
Kelly's Cafe
When you need a little treat for yourself or the kids, I send everyone to Kelly's Cafe on Pearl Road, tucked into the Laurel Square shopping center just south of Route 303. It is a woman-owned creperie and coffee shop, and it is the real deal: more than 30 crepes made to order, from the "Big Show" loaded with ham, egg, cheddar, and sausage to the cherry cheesecake crepe that people drive across town for. The cappuccinos come in big ceramic mugs, the homemade ice cream is a sleeper hit, and the whole place feels like a friend's kitchen, colorful and unhurried. Cleveland.com has named it one of Northeast Ohio's best brunch spots, and one bite tells you why. Grab a crepe and a coffee, sit by the window, and watch fall roll in. It is exactly the kind of local gem that makes Brunswick feel like home, and I love that we get to support a local woman-owned business like this one.
